You can feel free to call me and whoever you choose a liar that is your right and yes I am a loud mouth so you are right on the money with that but with the way you are reacting I'm starting to believe the whole thing is BS just to stir up more problems with the JCPD so I am standing on my soapbox now so you can go to town on me

If I really wanted to be part of the JCPD PR Dept I don't that would be a problem as for bashing your friend that is your opinion I asked a question which had a rude response so I then edited my comment And as for the facts you know one side of the story which you choose to believe to be the truth

AND, you said you thought what he said was at least half BS, which is an assumption based on NOTHING.

So, essentially you're calling one of my closest friends a liar. I will not stand for that.

You wouldn't like it if i called you and yours a liar, based on nothing other than my only impression this medium affords me: that you're a loudmouth who likes to make assumptions and blame the victim.

yes, but i am a lot closer to the truth than you are given that i know the person involved and have discussed it at length. You're just making assumptions based on some media reports. You have a right to your opinion, but when you know someone's friend is in the room, are you still going to talk shit about that person knowing full well that that friend will stand at his defense? It's not cool.

And like i said, my opinion is based on more factual information than yours. You seem to just want to be part of the JCPD PR Committee.

You are making claims that I am attempting to assassinate his character nothing could be further from the truth I don't know him on a personal level to bash him I am stating my opinion which last time I checked I was living in America so I still have that right. And as for your bottom line that the cops acted with inappropriate force on someone who was REPORTING not COMMITING a potential crime I find it hard to believe everything is a cut and dry as you are insisting because there are always three sides to every story yours, mine & the truth. So if you are taken offense to what I'm saying I won't apologize for giving my opinion and I take offense to the fact that you are both jumping to the conclusion that I'm assuming he is 100% wrong maybe I'm just standing up for what I feel is the truth and if you don't like that ohh well to bad Grow up and deal with it or move to another country where I'm not entitiled to voice my opinion

Contractor to do work on doors
Home away from home
Home away from home

Hello, I have several doors in my house that don't close properly. The doors were either improperly installed to begin with, or the floor warped and now the doors don't close all the way. Can anyone recommend a contractor for this kind of work?

TIA

yes, and these "contacts" know every phone call that comes in to the assignment desk of every TV network.

Those must be some pretty big ears!

sure, you're entitled to your opinion, but it should be based on something more than unsupported conjecture.

And, as a close friend of the injured party, i will not stand for the insults and character assassination. FACT: Jersey Journal Reported the Incident. FACT: Media outlets picked up on the incident from the jersey journal report and contacted him. It is the job of any NJ reporter to follow all NJ newspapers. FACT: TV media reports didn't surface until three days after the event.

And how could you possibly know for a fact that the media contacted him, when I know for a fact---again, a friend of mathias---they contacted him. I even recommended to him when it happened that he should contact the media, but he said he didn't want to go there.

The bottom line is the cops acted with inappropriate force on someone who was REPORTING not COMMITING a potential crime.

So please, I take personal offense to you smearing my friend's name, so please take your screenname and your unfounded theories and go post on CorruptThugCopsRule.com

No I edited my comments when someone referred to me as officer beatdown #2. I read about this in the paper when it happened. But I'm sorry I'm not as quick to jump to judgement as some other people and maybe the paper contacted him but like I said earlier the news channels were contacted by him who someone who knows him. Do I think he is a bad guy probably not but I don't think everything is as cut & dry as most of you are making it out. So if you are offended I'm sorry but I am entitled to my opinion correct.

Today I was on the 12:20PM bus heading back to JC. The female driver almost hit the opposing traffic while attempting to make the turn at Congress LR...then, she blew past the MARKED bus stop at Webster/Congress - after I yelled out "stop please" she came to a stop on the further down the street at an nondesignated bus stop. I asked, "isn't the bus stop back there?" because I truly don't know what is going on with this bus line anymore...she replied with a shrug and a dirty look. so I said, "oh, I guess the bus stop is wherever you want it to be then. thanks."

my small amount of vengeance doesn't help, though...cuz we never know if the bus WILL stop - either to let us on or off.

i hate the 99s. but I'm preaching to the choir now.

As someone close to this case, let me explain. This has been his scheduled court date since the date of the incident, prior to the media involvment. The media contacted him, he didn't contact the media.

Please stop making any two-bit, armchair judge, shooting-from-the-hip accusations without knowing the facts. It's simply offensive to call his story "BS." And, I saw you post on nj.com about the same thing, so it appears that you only exist to assassinate someone's character.

meowmix & di6 ? Thanks for the input!!...

Both of you had mentioned the problem of coming up with enough browns. As I was reading the literature, I was thinking? there are a number of trees in Hamilton Park that have dead leaves under them almost all year. If I end up composting, I thought I?d go over with a rake and a couple lawn-n-leaf bags and fill up. Wouldn?t it be win-win for both the HP community (cleaner HP) and composters (brown organic material)?

Would there be a possible objection from the HP community that I?m missing?...

Let's get one thing straight here. You are the one who started making accusations not me. I asked a question you were the one who stared off being nasty. I signed up yesterday because I only found out about this site yesterday. I like to see what everyone has to say about everything before I make a judgement. And I know for a fact the television channels were contacted by him or by someone who knows him so please just get off your high horse Thank you!

How do you know he went to the media? Maybe a reporter showed up at the scene and asked questions.

Anyway, even if he did, so what? And what if he wants to file a lawsuit? I sure as hell would.

Something to hide? I'm a regular poster here. A few people on this board even know me. Who are you and where do you get off?

Sawadee has good Thai food - well better than the food at most combo Asian take-out places. The ambiance is nice, the service is pretty good and the Duck Pad Thai is great...My only gripe is that the prices have dramatically increased in the 2 months they have been opened! I first went there the night of the steam pipe explosion - so the end of July? And then went again a week ago to pick up take out. I ordered the exact same things, and my total bill was $11 more than the first time we went there for only 3 items! Each item on the menu went up at least $2-3! I understand that when restaurants open they don't quite have things figured out menu/pricing-wise, but a price hike like that is bad enough to turn customers away before they come back for a second time!

Re: composting in JC

I started composting last year with a tumbler type container. I keep it in the corner of the yard - sort of in the shade. It's be slow going - haven't harvested any compost from it yet. Mostly because I go through periods of ignoring it and loading it up with too many greens. I also have a problem finding enough browns to keep a good balance. I thought about asking relatives for their leaves in the fall but I'm worried about bringing pests in this way. Compost will still happen even if the ratios are off. It just takes longer. No critter problems at all.

Although it's probably not ideal for the squeamish, worm composting is the fastest way to produce rich fertilizer from your kitchen scraps. I started my worm bin this past July. I purchased a stacking worm bin and set it up on my deck. I have about 100 red wigglers and they seem to be doing really well on kitchen scraps and shredded newspaper. In a few more weeks I should be able to collect my first load of castings. My husband is pretty grossed out by it but I'm having fun. My only issue is where to overwinter a container full of worms.

Re: composting in JC

I have a small compost bin. I made it using these instructions:
http://www.yougrowgirl.com/garden/urbancomposting.php

I used the basic idea. I'm always adding to the compost and I mix it up every week or two. This is my first time doing it, so I guess I'll see how it turns out. Hopefully there will be some for the spring! One thing I have trouble with is finding enough 'browns' since I have no grass clippings or dead leaves. I have been adding a lot of shredded newspaper and cardboard. Spent potting soil also goes into the mix. I haven't had any trouble with pests, aside from small flies that get in there when I don't bury the greens deeply enough.
Also, the brunswick community garden composts. When I went to their open house, they said some people join just to compost there.
