Re: St. Peter's Prep holds groundbreaking for $5.25 million athletic center

Tan has the ability to go up to five stories. The comment is full of it. He wants to go up to seven on that narrow lot. The athletic center is also set back from Grand, and will not be prominent on the property.

http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... wner_wears_down_city.html

"The City Council approved an amendment during its meeting Wednesday night to the Grand and Marin sub-district, in the Tidewater Basin Redevelopment Plan.

The sub-district covers Tan's property at the corner of Grand Street and Marin Boulevard and the neighboring ball fields owned by St. Peter's Prep.

The amendment allows for four-story buildings, with the option for a fifth-floor penthouse on corner lots like Tan's. That's a total height of 57 feet, a dramatic increase from the 15-foot restriction the zone previously called for."

Athletics are part of a well rounded offering. It was mostly paid for with a land sale and a donation from one of my '86 classmates. Prep athletes are also strictly under the same academic requirements as the rest of the students, and do not get a different curriculum or any special treatment.

But some people are just permanently sour I guess.

Roads in the Deep South are not subject to severe winters and frost heaving, as well as road salt. The comparison is stupid.

Generally, restaurants need to triple the cost of food to make a profit. Very few restaurants can stay afloat if food cost approaches 40% of operating revenue.

What will happen when the brand disappears when TV is all streaming and on demand? Technology changes. Channels nine and eleven have gone through multiple renames, and other channels have hopped around the number system with the advent of cable, satellite, FIOS and internet streaming. Jersey City also has a website, and the local news sites will post local emergency instructions.

Yvonne, a position on a number system is not really relevant today, and in this case is especially irrelevant since the [public access channel is now grouped with other news channels, so it's visible every time they tune to them.

Smashing a burger is OK as long as it is done only when the burger meat is first put on the grill. Juices have not been released yet, so the burger just gets pressed into better contact with the flat top.

If they continued to press during cooking, it would dry out the patty. But at the beginning, it's fine.b

As for salt, I prefer it on the outside for thin to medium thickness patties. You get a nice salty crust that way. With thicker burgers, the meat needs to be seasoned through out to prevent getting a bland bite of meat.

Still at less than half of Trumps's standing in the polls. He's the latest non-Trump, like Carson, and will fall back into the abyss.

And after that, he's in very low single digits.

I would second that making personal attacks is not warranted. Even if I disagree with his, his opinion, and politics, I would still not make personal insults, and definitely not attack a spouse.

The issue I have with that characterization is that while he may win OH, he would lose more swings states, and Rubio would probably not win Florida over Clinton.

I don't see how a candidate that is barely a blip on his own party's radar has a chance in hell of carrying a general election.

Even in OH:

His landslide win was due to his opponent being caught boning a woman not his wife in a car.

More people voted to not legalize marijuana than voted for him to be governor.

Being the only semi sane man among a bunch of crazies is a reason to vote for him in the primary, but does nothing for him in the general election.

Besides, his stances on abortion, he's also signed laws that help his party suppress votes by minorities and poorer people, like shutting down Sunday voting, restricting the mailing of absentee ballots and making it easier to reject provisional ballots for minor errors that do not have to do with the validity of the voter's registration.

And that's his best possible showing in any primary at all. After NH, he's closer to the bottom.

In SC he's at 1%, maybe up to 2%, depending on the poll.
In IA, he's at a solid 2%.

Surging to what, actual double digits, and still less than half of Trump's poll results in NH? And after that, Christie drops to low single digits.. like under 3%. He'll be gone just after SC.

And, btw, many, many people also view(ed) Obama as an empty suit. We know how that turned out: beat Hillary and got elected twice.

I do not remember anyone calling Obama an empty suit.

As for Kasich, the VP position would alienate much of the base since Rubio is not very well liked among the core of the party and the hardcore TP types. He would need to add a true blue nut to his ticket to get them to vote for him.

And what makes these people not American, the lack of Smith or Jones as last names?

Nothing but team sports. Being a Republican these days is about the leader cult, and some respond to the loud asshole leader image that Christie has put up, and delude themselves to think that he is more of a footnote in the presidential race.

But that also does not keep them from leaping to the defense of a liar like Trump.

This is true, especially in major commuter arteries like Sip Aveneue, Newark Avenue, Columbus and Grand. Double parking, and lack of enforcement of no stop zones is non-existent.

Thanks for posting that, Mayor Fulop. There's a great base of talent in Jersey City that could contribute to an integrated submission. Have you contacted the ladies that run the TedX here? They actively interact with a very large talent pool in town.

Pablo Guzman himself has walked that back, saying there was no evidence, only hearsay that was not substantiated.

And you very much are an excuser of liars, knowing full well that Trump made up seeing what he did, and you have been bending over backwards to justify his, and your own, bigotry to do so. Your own words confirm that, from the use of rumor and libel, and then bridging over to repeating the lies about PP.

You're a piece of work.

The other two are a but less numerous, but the Yvonne types, the oldster Northeast, bigoted crank, informed by Fox News, is distressingly common. Monroe is a team cheerleader with disingenuous posting, hence the "why did they stop beating their wife" bullshit about PP.

He very well knows they never sold fetuses, but his question presumes they do as a trap/dodge for his bullsh*t.

Bullshit. Repeating the same stupid and vile lie doesn't make it any more true. I suppose if you believe the deceptively edited videos designed to smear Planned Parenthood, you would also believe a rodeo clown like Trump.

Of course, when Obama drones associated civilians with targets he's been doing the same thing as Trump proffers.

That's a myth. Putin is primarily bombing Torkmen and Kurds so as to shore up Assad as the only practical alternative to ISIS. The Right Wing is shameful in promoting a "tough guy" since it's a leader cult without its own leader, so it praises bombings that are counter productive.
