Re: Fulop: Let's tighten our ethics rules
Home away from home
Home away from home

He left out the part about them not having to show up for the other job.People don't realize that a mayor from North Bergen can have more influence over our council then we do.How?

lets say north bergen wants to hook into our sewer system
(which they have) and lets say they only want to pay 8 million
for but its really worth 25 million.Since the mayor of North Bergen is Running the County Govt.He can put Pressure on our
councilmen to get this scheme approved. He holds their paychecks in his hand.Six of the nine are on the county payroll.

Sometimes you just have to call them out even if you can't win.
The councilmen are gnashing their teeth over having to vote on this because they know their on the wrong side of the issue.

I can't wait to see the lame excuses they come up with for voting no.Bill Gaughan who is the biggest offender will probably
fein outrage and indignation at even being questioned on his
ethical behavior.Meanwhile he has two jobs and two cars one of which he lets his family use, plus he has family on the payroll.

Totaly not nessasary.More rec.programs is what is needed. We used to have the best all around rec programs in the county.Other towns were always scared to play in our league.
Give the kids something to do,very simple.

He is just dragging this out in case Corzine wants to make him a judge. He can't be a judge with a conviction.
He can be drunk, naked and convicted while serving as Mayor though,go figure.

Dumb law.The way it reads a cop can put his ear against my door and if he can hear the sterio on i can get a ticket. These things need to be more thought out.

The city needs to just buy it first,we can argue over its use later.
Personally it could just stay the way it is and i'd be happy(least useful application) though.

Just planting wild flowers on the top would be pretty cool till we get more money. The point is you cannot wait till you have every penny before you do something or no great thing would ever get done.My wife got pregnant before we had health insurance, crazy yes but worth every penny.

Someday Jersey City will host its own full blown Marathon and the news choppers will show the whole world a close up of the runners heading for the waterfront on top of the Embankment.

Sound silly, well i remember LSP when it was a garbage dump so anything is possible.Never give up,Never give in....

Great book "living on the edge of the world" Please read it

Home away from home

While picking out books for the kids today i came upon a paperback in Barnes and Nobles called "living on the edge of the world" edited short stories by Irina Reyn.

All the stories are written based on roadway exits on the turnpike and parkway. There were great stories on Jersey City and Hoboken as well as Fort lee .Really touching and wonderful accounts of living and moving to different towns in new jersey.

I sat outside and read the whole book today. There are about 19 stories that cover almost every exit and date back to the 70's and 80's.

Get this book, read it and give it to a friend,it'll make you feel good.

At street level where people have to walk.I cross the street because you can't walk on that side.I wouldn't want that dirtbag to do any thing on top because he might leval the place while weeding.

Anyone notice the overgrown weeds all along the embankment.
We should all call to complain and force the present owner to cut the grass or be fined like everyone else in this city. Those fines can run up pretty fast and would give the city leverage when negotiating.

The fundraiser part never was cancelled.Thats just what the J__koff Politions who run this city wanted you to think. How utterly stupid and selfish the Healy and sires people were in getting the rally cancelled. How great would it have been for Jersey City to be seen on the Six o'clock news with thousands of people in Newport Square. No can't let Fulop look good,Healy could have went there and been the bigger man.I'm sure they would have extended happy hour until he got back.Asshole....

JClaw is both right and wrong. The state is giving back some control to the city,Which will allow them to once again pad the payroll with family and freinds.

This does not mean that the funding will stop.

What allegations, they either work there or they don't.I think this could be a real fun Thread.

Police chief Comey's wife still runs the biggest security company of off duty cops in Jersey City.

How many family members of Healys chief of staff Carl Cibliki are on the payroll.

That would make sense but pleading guilty to the charges at hand do not require him to step down from anything. Its only the media that he has to worry about,so why drag it out.

He is going to appeal to a higher court which i think is stupid because it just drags this whole sordid mess out.

If he did not have a history of drunken behavior which i have personally witnessed over the years than i would have given him the benefit of the doubt.

If Jerry admitted to ten beers than he really had 15 or twenty(this guy can drink)He is known to get belligerent when drunk,at least when he's not singing Irish ballads.

The crazy part is he's a diabetic and should not be drinking at all.

He will be convicted and then what,Nothing!

We have 100,000 voters but the average mayoral election brings out 39,000.

This is how the Machine wins.Untill we start voting in larger numbers we are stuck bitching about a drunk and naked guy who is are Mayor.

Wait and see how she votes on that bill, she lied to get their money and support. You will not see our new senator in Paulus hook unless she is in the light horse inn.

More people voted for Manzo downtown but she won Ward E with the Booker Tee and Montgomery Gardens voting 110 to 4 in each district.Paulus hook which is district 21 voted 70 to 20 for Manzo.Without the two projects she would have lost Ward E.
