Re: Boonton Reservoir

Smart move by Fulop; when Murphy turns out to be a one term Gov, he can run again and get some support from Morris County for opening up the area for recreation.

Where is Gov Murphy?

He's off for an 11 day vacation, and his staff refuses to tell us where he is??

https://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/ ... n_the_state_wont_say.html

He's entitled to his secrecy, but this is a little odd. I know Bloomberg would sometimes zip down to his Caribbean crib without notice, but that always was critiqued.

Maybe the Star Ledger will file a FOI request to see if he has State Police assets protecting him at his villa in Umbria, if that is where he is. If state funds are used for security we should have an idea where he's at.

Silly, it's her responsibility if someone wrote incorrect information on a petition?

The Reservoir Tavern in Boonton has terrific pizza, if you want a bite after a hike.

Fulop blocked them from funding, otherwise it would be on the way. It?s like the kid who killed his parents then asked the judge for leniency because he was an orphan.

There is a PBS video on the Brooklyn restoration, it cost around $75 million to restore. I was there a few years ago, it was incredible.

What in the world are you talking about? Charters get a fraction of district schools and have to pay the mortgage or rent for their property out of that!
. Which is my point, you can?t compare charter school expenditures, or votech, or K-8 with K-12 stats.

Maybe the local owners wanted to see the results from the multi year delayed reval? Or maybe they wanted to see if any infrastructure improvements would take place (like extending Jersey Ave, or fixing Grand St, or improving sewerage?)

JC schools spend 25% more per student than the state average so calling them ?starved for cash? is misleading g, especially since JC funds such a tiny amount of the cost.

Some really nice thinly-veiled racism on display here. Congrats JCList - you never disappoint! I too am nervous about the crowd he'll attract: an overabundance of Hoboken bros in their 30s (think 'Old School,' which made fun of white people liking Snoop 15 years ago).

11 people shot in JC between June 30th and July 7th. I don?t think it was improper to worry that there could?ve been violence at the concert/fireworks.

How is expecting JC to pay more than the paltry 17% it currently spends to pay for its own schools ?screwing? JC taxpayers?

I'd imagine running a regular schedule on a holiday would cost PATH a ton of cash in holiday overtime. I'm sure Steve wouldn't offer to pick up the extra cost.

I think JC is predicting a ton of cash from the city salary tax, which should cover any loss of state aid for the near future.

That proposal should and will not go anywhere. Out of curiosity where is the map of the proposed track? Isn?t there a sailing school just in from the golf course already?

If we find out the Murphy kid (and no, Gov, a 20 year old isn?t a minor) was flown back to the US by N.J. assets-there will be an issue. We?ll know soon enough.

Because a Governor worth over $100 million dollars shouldn?t burden NJ taxpayers with flying his adult son from a foreign country after drunkenly falling off a roof and injuring himself?
