I am so effing sick of even hearing about these lowlifes.
They should be publicly beaten along with their neglectful parents.

Hi Everyone... just reading this whole thing now. And none of this is me.

Four years is a long way away. But considering that spending is UP UP UP and Team Fulop (including Ms. Osborne) just gave us a tax increase.... Most likely I will run again.

We have to get the spending under control, and right now, Mayor Fulop is trying to position himself for Governor at Jersey City's expense.

Thanks.

Fletcher Gensamer

P.S. I knew I wouldn't win. I wasn't on a ticket and wasn't riding Stephen Fulop's coat-tails with a $million-plus marketing budget. However, I did better than the other two mayoral candidates in Ward E in total # of votes, and also beat 6 other independent candidates in Jersey City in total number of votes. Not to shabby for a first timer.

P.P.S. Also, not a tea-partier. Registered Democrat. Go to Hudson County voter registration office and feel free to look it up. I'm just a concerned citizen who is concerned that out of control taxes hurt Jersey City.

Well you have obviously ruined the evening of a couple people with this note... We need to hold government accountable no matter who is at the helm!

Here is a section of the CBS Chicago report on shooting incident in Chicago last night that kept him away from Jersey City. At least Rahm know enough to drop politics/fundraiser when there is a shooting in his city.

McCarthy repeatedly refused to address the incident?s toll on the city?s reputation or his department?s effort to curb gun violence. ?Every time somebody is shot in this city, it?s a setback,? McCarthy said. ?But this is not just a Chicago problem.?

The incident appeared problematic enough for Mayor Rahm Emanuel to cancel a meeting with Obama administration cabinet secretaries today on city issues and return to Chicago, his spokeswoman Sarah Hamilton said.

Emanuel flew to D.C. Thursday to raise money for his campaign fund. His East Coast swing also was supposed to include a political fundraiser for Democratic New Jersey U.S. Senate candidate Cory Booker.

Upon his return, Emanuel spent 40 minutes at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he spoke with Deonta?s mother. The boy, who remains in critical condition, was sedated and being prepared for surgery during the visit.

Good luck getting any work out of Booker when he's Senator. That's when the countrywide tour will really begin.

That's the way it works, inexperienced Senator to President... Patrick from Massachusetts was supposed to be "the next guy", but his track record as governor is quite bad... so bad, he couldn't get a cabinet position with the current administration in DC. I guess that says a lot!

Interesting gossip... I think Fulop has a long way to go building his political resume and fulfilling his promises as a successful mayor of Jersey City. No doubt some of the new social programs, city government reforms and appointments (McGreevy) the Mayor is instituting are part of that resume building process.

Big Guy from reading a few blogs it seems yes people wish a stronger/fresher candidate was running against Booker. But they are saying they will hold their nose and vote Lonegan this time around just to deny Booker (and Hollywood) a US Senate seat. Then in 14 months for the real election they are hoping there will be two better choices.

I forgot this election is only to run out the clock on Lautenberg's seat.... I guess that is good news! That was terrible news in Chicago, just read the report. The CB people should be embarrassed to have Rahm here, he has no value except to remind people about another democrat run US city going down the tubes. You would think the NJ Teachers Unions would be out in full force against him too!

Please join me along with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel this Friday, September 20 at 5:30pm as we rally together in support of Cory Booker for Senate at a FREE event.

Many of you know that I am personally supporting Cory Booker for U.S. Senate in this crucial election. As a Mayor of a diverse urban city much like Jersey City or Chicago, Cory Booker is the only candidate that will understand the needs of Jersey City.

I hope you can join Rahm and I this Friday to discuss the unique challenges of our renaissance cities. We?ll be at the Bistro at Grove Square, 116 Newark Avenue, just outside the Grove Street PATH. http://grovesquarejc.com/ starting at 530PM

All are welcome and hope to see you there

The train is good as long as you don't want to get to the game more than 2 hours before game time. Which I imagine for most people is fine. However, I meet up with a tailgate that starts right when the parking lot opens and I'd be missing out on a solid 3 hours of tailgating if I took the train so I was looking into alternate methods of getting to the stadium.
It looks like one option would be to take the PATH to Penn Station and then take the 161 Bus to the Stadium. Has anyone ever tried this? Is it decent on game days?

I have taken the route you outlined to the Racetrack... Very easy, cheap and quick (10 minutes) barring outbound traffic problems (rare when I go)... Have never taken during NFL event (assume they run extra/special busses) but have taken 11:30 Sat during college football/soccer/concert events and it does get packed because it also handles commuters. I would plan to be in bus boarding line 30 minutes before depart to make sure you catch your bus unless leaving super early on Sunday morning. Be sure take the train back if you leave right after game. This is easier than bus back into city.... Also if you want to drop $30 on cab ride... take early Hoboken train to Secaucus, cab to Metlife, it is not cheap... Good luck!

Booker has no spine... he has walked back a couple comments over the last few years when he was correct with the original comment! No doubt phone call came from the Senior NJ Senator who is Gung-Ho.... Speaking of Profiles in Courage, I see the newly elected MA Senator Markey voted "present" after listening to Kerry's testimony? Note that Markey replaced Kerry after Kerry went to state department! The testimony didn't convince him one way or another?

Outside of the hiring of his boyfriend, how disgraceful was McGreevey? He was actually a solid governor, probably the best we've had over the last 30 years. The hire of an unqualified person for that job was an exceptionally poor decision. However, he's certainly not the first to do so and he won't be the last.

McGreevy's political corruption / sexual orientation was discussed on another link... point of my post was really to wonder who is really pulling the strings??? JC taxpayers are paying this Adviser 15K a year for his political connections???

A job should have some decency associated with it - living wage and paid sick time off are part of that decency.

I applaud Fulop for this.

I guess you need to see the details. 30 days employment (full/part time??) to earn one sick day is stated however you could be technically employed but only work 4 hours a week and still get a paid day off after 30 days if you are sick?

Obama had the senate/house first to 2 years in office and failed to do anything in terms of fixing the economy and here we are today with the economy still flat. I understand what Fulop is doing, but I think there are more pressing needs for the city then working on this kind of stuff.
