Re: it's gonna be fun watching the GOP squirm after the mid-term election

I did not lay it all on Clinton, I opened by saying Bush 1 negotiated the deal. It was a total sellout of the America people by Washington DC. This was supposed to stop illegal immigration by raising the standard of living overseas and it was to supposed to clean up the environment by holding signees to non-pollution pacts... it had all the bells and whistles attached to get it passed. It was going to make North America competitive against the EU. These Krugman economic theorists are always experimenting and artificially changing a natural order of simple things like supply and demand concept. Obama has a Noble Peace Prize and look where the professor has taken us. The current leftist phrase, just used by Hillary in Boston a couple weeks back is that people don't create and build businesses, customers do???

ote:
it is very interesting that conservatives are trying to put the blame on clinton for signing nafta which has negatively impacted manufacturing jobs. i agree this was the start of the decline....but the republicans in Congress were big cheerleaders for this. [/quote]

I was out walking about 3:00 and there was some sort of Muslim rally on the closed west bound lane of Montgomery, right across from the Blue Moon Caf?. About 150 people most dressed in black, chanting with music. It was the oddest place to hold rally. JCPD blocked the street.

Yes.... I know it's difficult to understand when the facts get in way of the myth. BTW, even though Bush 1 negotiated it; it was Clinton who signed NFTA which started the decline of the US middle class when we swapped good paying US based manufacturing jobs for fresh Mexican produce and the promise of a "new service economy" which turned out to be jobs at Walmarts and McDonalds.

The administration also changed the rules on calculating unemployment and other similar metrics. They changed the Consumer Price Index (CPI) so there would be no indication of inflation. What did they remove, cost of gasoline and cost of food. Basic commodities that hit everyone in the USA. Price of food is skyrocketing, a gallon of milk is currently more than gasoline. So while food prices (and gas will return too) increase, who does that affect... people living on fixed incomes, who see the price increases but not their COLI increase. Won't discuss the temporary gas price decrease but the stock market is another bubble set to burst as soon as the manipulators see the right time to short it and make trillions as people pensions/retirements disappear. This is all part of the FED printing money feeding the Wall Street addiction. Once the source dries up, there will be hell too pay.

You would not believe the type of pandemic planning the US / State governments made regulated businesses go through in planning for an avian / swine pandemic. And now we hear that they are unprepared???

NV-D68 is far more deadlier to US kids that Ebola (at the moment) It is very common in Central/South America and kids like the NJ 4 year old are dying overnight.

Oddly enough CDC still can not identify a source of something that started in springtime and is in 40+ states making hundreds of kids sick and killing at least 5 of them.

Typically large companies, especially in finance have ethics requirement for employees to disclose if they serve on outside boards etc. to avoid conflicts of interest.

In a June 2014, solicitation letter from Akil's "More Than a Race (MTR)", he solicited funds in the name of MTR which had its tax exempt status rescinded by the IRS. MTR asks checks be made out to the "Jersey City Youth Foundation" and mailed to 230 7th Street, Jersey City N.J.
This letter is sent under cover of MTR which is indisputably under the control Mayor Fulop's Chief of Staff Muhammed Akil, the correspondence is signed by MTR Executive Director Richard Moon. The solicitation letter does not ask checks be made out to MTR but that checks be made out to the "Jersey City Youth Foundation", which is essentially a political arm of Mayor Fulop, the letter also claims donations would be tax deductible, whether or not that is the case will certainly be uncovered. http://jcyouth.org

Two of the Board Members of the "Jersey City Youth Foundation".

The Chair of the "Jersey City Youth Foundation" is Veronica Park who is the chief fundraiser coordinator for Mayor Fulop and has been for quite some time. As per her BIO, Ms. Park is also on the advisory board of the Jersey City Medical Center, a position Mayor Fulop had appointed her to by way of a 4/16/2014 letter. The letter of solicitation from Mayoral Chief of Staff Muhammed Akil's MTR asks that donated funds be sent to the residence of Ms. Park and made out to the "Jersey City Youth Foundation". In her BIO Ms. Park lends credibility to her competence by putting forth her work at Yo Mon Yogurt and Starbucks as an operations and marketing developer.

Another board member on the "Jersey City Youth Foundation" is Elissa Fulop a close relative of the mayor whom is the only board member that acknowledges living out of town. Prominent in her Bio is the fact that she works as a Vice President in Digital Marketing for Merrill Lynch.

As to the rest of the members of the board, a quick review will reveal that all but one are long time Fulop operatives.

I only wonder, if this mangled mesh of finances go south, how happy will Starbucks, Yo Mon Yogurt and Merrill Lynch be that their good names have been involved by their employees.

BELOW ARE THE BIO'S FOR BOARD CHAIR VERONICA PARK AND BOARD MEMBER ELISSA FULOP (ELISSA FULOP IS INCLUDED TO DEMONSTRATE THE STRONG CONNECTION THAT HE HAS WITH THIS ORGANIZATION, AN ORGANIZATION THAT HIS CHIEF OF STAFF IS ATTEMPTING TO SOLICIT DONATIONS FROM FIRMS DOING BUSINESS WITH THE CITY).

Veronica Park Chairwoman of Jersey City Youth Foundation:

Veronica Park lives in Jersey City with her 3 children who all attend PS #37. She is actively involved in her community with fundraising, consulting and connecting individuals for the common benefit of all. She is passionate about our city and has led the Mayor?s Backpack, Turkey and Toy Drive efforts for the past 4 years. She is a Board Member for the Jersey City Medical Center, Advisory Board Member for Bareburger, and Business Consultant for Yo Mon Yogurt. She was also the Finance Director and Inauguration Committee Chair for Mayor Steven Fulop.
Veronica Park continues her journey at Starbucks Coffee Company as a business, operations and market development leader with over the 20+ years. She is a high-integrity, results-oriented entrepreneurial master known for her ability to develop, replicate, strengthen and scale operations on a regional, national and international basis.

[b]Board member Ellissa Fulop of West Orange:

Elissa Fulop has over twenty years of marketing and advertising experience within financial services. Elissa has demonstrated the ability to drive results, lead and build effective cross-functional teams, create innovative product and marketing opportunities and manage key relationships both internally and externally. She is currently the Vice President of Digital Marketing at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this role, Elissa is responsible for partnership in defining strategies and aligning priorities for the Institutional Retirement business.Elissa graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a BA in Finance and currently lives in West Orange with her husband, 2 daughters and bulldog named Mugsy.

Are you that foolish to believe that Al Sharpton would apologize for anything... hard to believe a crowd that small and Al stepped on your husband's foot. Maybe it was Al's subtle way of saying he doesn't like gay people?

Think we need to leave the class warfare / race baiting comments alone. Justice Department Reportedly Asked Ferguson Cops Not To Release Alleged Robbery Video Of Slain Teen

Police in Ferguson released a video tape allegedly showing slain teen Michael Brown robbing a store even though the Justice Department warned that doing so could inflame racial tensions, CNN is reporting.

Ferguson cops had wanted to release the video on Thursday but held off when federal officials asked them not to release the tape, an unnamed law enforcement official told CNN. That tape allegedly showed Brown stealing cigars from a convenience store before a police officer shot the unarmed 18-year-old in the street last weekend.

I do not have much faith in the DOJ honestly or objectively dealing with racial issues; not to release the tape because it "might inflame racial tensions"? That fire was already burning, if anything it might cause people to pause and think?

It is remarkable that the media knew all week long the victim was a robbery suspect and yet not one reporter investigated the rumor? To think people were potentially risking their lives during these demonstrations over a guy that robbed a store and then it appears tried to take on a cop. To think that what this guy did 15 minutes prior to getting killed had no influence on his interactions with the cop is na?ve to say the least. The poor guy on Staten Island killed by the cop has been forgotten by the frenzy in Ferguson.

@ Pebble, Fulop is a politician, that "white male" statement was made for a specific audience and I think you are smart enough to understand my point. People talk about "code words" and that phrase is not meant to be complimentary. You may think the pandering white male crack is funny but I resent being stereo typed and categorized with the implication (prejudice) that white men are inherently evil therefore as a member of that group, you are evil too and out to hurt people. Some will say the shoe is on the other foot, how does that feel? I will say two wrongs don't make a right, our society should be better than that line of thought.

I have lived in DTJC since 2003 and do not remember the violent street crime of last 3 months being this bad, even 5 years ago... B&Es? my building has been broken into a couple times but that comes with any neighborhood. Usually it is a purse / ipod snatching. But Guns, crowbars and box cutters in the middle of the night, no that stuff didn't happen 5 years ago. I was out late a lot more then.

You aren't sure which neighborhoods are safer??? LOL, You didn't know DTJC is safer than other JC neighborhoods?

DTJC had murders last year, and the year before. That doesn't mean it's not MUCH safer than most parts of this city. Also, yes the "new norm" today, is better than the "norm" 5 years ago.
