I agree.

We had the Hamilton Park oysters and we didn't get sick, but they were not cold enough and we told them so. We tried again a few weeks later, but no change.

He is well-spoken and will try to pass himself off as a USPS driver as he did when I first witnessed his shenanigans. He walks around going from stoop to stoop looking for packages, mail etc. I witnessed him stealing a Netflix DVD from one neighbors mailbox.

I just spotted a guy with teardrop tattoos and a camouflage jacket on Erie between 5th and 6th.

Just because there are no signs, don't assume you are off the hook. It's ridiculous, but that's the way it goes around here...

Believe me, I'm not sticking up for the JCPA, but they don't have to (and shouldn't have to) put up signs for everything...

From the NJ Driver's Manual

Do not PARK (N.J.S.A. 39:4-138)
Unless directed to do so by a police officer or to avoid an accident, a motorist should never stop or park at any of the following places:
- On a crosswalk
- Between a safety zone for pedestrians and the adjacent curb or within
20 feet of the end of the safety zone
- Near properly marked street construction
- In a space on public or private property marked for vehicle parking for the handicapped (unless legally authorized)
- On an interstate highway
- On a sidewalk
- In a bus stop zone
- In front of a public or private driveway
- Within an intersection
- Within 10 feet of a fire hydrant
- Within 25 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, or side line of a street or intersection highway, except at alleys
- Within 50 feet of a railroad crossing
- Within 50 feet of a stop sign
- Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station and within 75 feet on the street opposite a fire station entrance

- On any bridge or elevated roadway or in any tunnel
- Next to another vehicle parked at the curb (double parking)
- In an area where parking is prohibited by municipal ordinance

We were in there last night. The new hours have them open until 9pm! We got our usual weekly stock of cheeses and pepper shooters.

Ok, so there are these same 'pellets' all over the ground in front of the same condos again. I don't know what they are, so beware. I called the city today and they said that they're sending an inspector out there.

I called the city back. They said they sent someone from JCIA over there and they said that it was not poison, but they *think* it was cat litter. I asked them how they made that determination, but I didn't get a satisfactory answer. They said the substance was cleaned up, anyway.

So I will keep an eye out and if i see it again, I will call the NJ Poison Control next time (thanks for the info, jerseymom).

I live on 5th a few houses form the condo you describe and I walk my dog passed there multiple times a day. I have not heard about this. Is there any truth to this?

When I was told this, there were some kind of pellets around the bases of the trees in front, so I kept my dog clear.

We had another enjoyable dinner here on Saturday. These guys seem to be making improvements every week. The fresh fettuccine with meatballs was very good. The desserts have been solid, too. We tried the calamari this time, too. Good sauce, good breading. Can't beat the price.

Oh, and we left a cashmere scarf there the last time we visited, and they had held onto it for us. So, add integrity to their list of attributes!

We ate in on Saturday night. There was a large party in there and the other tables were pretty full. We had the mussels appetizer. The mussels were good, but I wasn't thrilled with the red sauce. For dinner we had the baked ziti sicilian (with eggplant) (and added meatballs) and chicken francese. We were pleased with both orders. Nothing fancy, but good portions, good flavor, good service. We will be back. Desserts were good, too. Comfort food.

Funny plastic wine glasses, though. :)

+1 for Park and Sixth. They make a great buffalo chicken salad, as well as others. They can also make an antipasto platter.

5th Street Poop Investigation (between Jersey and Erie):

I think there are two poop suspects. A big-poop violator and a small-poop violator. I believe the small-poop violator is a person who lives on 5th between Erie and Manila, but I have yet to catch him in the act.

I have noticed, however, that the poop area in question is mostly in front of the converted-temple condos. The street light there has been out for a long time, enabling poop-violations in the cloak of darkness. I have reported the street light outage to the city and to PSEG a couple of times, but to no avail. This also makes it problematic for people walking down the street to avoid the poops.

If anyone is interested in campaigning to get that street light back on, the pole number is 60715JC. PSEG Street Light Report

Re: Car Accident on 3rd & Erie - - Be Careful!

I saw the accident. It sure did look like she hit her brakes too hard (because a car came out of 3rd)... she did a 360 and almost came to a complete stop, but then shot over the curb, sidewalk, and fence... like she hit the gas again by mistake. The church had just let out and there were a lot of people on the sidewalks. It was a miracle that a pedestrian wasn't hit.

You don't need a zone permit for weekends, after Friday, 5pm in most areas. Read the sign in your zone.

We ate there yesterday. It was very busy and orders took a long time, but the chicken was very good. Both the Spicy and the Garlic/Soy were very good. We had the boneless breast pieces. I wasn't a fan of the kimchi cole slaw, but next time I want to try the other side dishes.

People treat their front gate-yards as dumpsters. Whether you're from the suburbs or not, this should not be considered acceptable behavior.

The law is that trash is supposed to be in a container and covered with a lid.

The JCIA doesn't enforce this if it is within the property, but the city does (is supposed to).

Here's what my neighbor's yard regularly looks like:

Re: What is with the trash and recycling guys?

I usually don't have a problem with them picking everything up. Our neighbors often have a mess, though, and it is because they throw cardboard and other trash in with the bottles/cans recycling. It seems that the recycle guys start to pick it up and then drop it, leaving cans and bottles and cardboard scattered.

I have also noticed that they have been coming later and later, especially along Jersey Ave. The regular trash guys hadn't hit Jersey Ave even by the time i left for work.
