Second hand smoke
Home away from home
Home away from home

My Wife and I rent a condo downtown.
It is a three unit building.
The fellow on the second floor is a chain
smoker who is unemployed and smokes
inside his apt. day and night.
The smell is coming into our unit.
Does anyone know if we have any recourse
other then to ask him to smoke outside,
which he won't?
Any state or local laws etc?

Thanks!

Michelle and the great ladies of S.A.V.E. Thank you for taking in Coles. It was great to meet all of you. What you do for these beautiful animals, is amazing.

If anyone wants to make a donation of supplies, etc, please take a look at the wish list.

We will still do all we can at this end to adopt Coles out. But the main thing is, we got him off the streets. Thanks to Taz for all his help as well!!!

Thank you for feeding the cats that you do. Are you the guy that lives off the alley? Great what you do. As far as Coles former owner. She wants to find him a home? Sorry, but that's laughable.
She took him in, and has now abandoned him. She did not return my call for day's. Why she did what she did is her issue, I can't personally wrap my brain around it, but I would not count on her for anything.

I am in NYC right now, but will make calls back to the fantastic group in Toms River and make plans to get Coles off the street.

Of course, in the meantime, I will hope that someone steps up and can foster him or better yet adopt him!!

Thanks everyone.

***Bump***

Also, please note, I put that Coles had the respiratory infection again. But that is just a guess on my part because he has been on the streets again for a couple of months. So he just needs to be tested to see if it came back. Hopefully it didn't. But,I have his papers from when the woman who had him took him to the vet. He was neutered and got all his shots in mid July, including distemper and rabies.

Dumped cat , taken off the streets, now not wanted.

I'll try to make this long story short:

Last winter someone dumped a tabby cat downtown.
It made it through the winter but had a bad respiratory infection.

A woman that I met through feeding some feral cats wanted him and so one day just was able to get him. She took him to vet. and got him all his shots, neutered, antibiotics etc.

She took him to her apt. where she had another cat she had taken from the streets.

She had taken another job out of state at this time and was commuting back and forth on the weekends to Jersey City while living in her new location. She still had her rental in JC.

While she was away for the week and having a pet sitter feed the cats.. the cat I am talking about with this post jumped out of the screen as she left the window up.

So now the cats back on the streets!

She moved out of state and my Wife and I put flyers up and kept looking. Just this weekend I saw him off of Newark Avenue!!

He has the infection again and I have been feeding him.

The bad part of this story is that I called the woman excitedly to tell her that I found the cat. She sent me a text back saying he would be better off where he was! I was taken a back.

So she does not want him anymore and he is now living in a parking lot.

I am going to try to get him to Liberty Humane. They are really overloaded there.

Would anyone be interested in adopting him? He is a little over a year old and his records I hope to have if the woman will authorize the vet to give them to me.

He is very sweet. We have three so can't take him.

I will try to figure out how to post some pics up here so you can see him.

If anyone wants him or knows someone who might please let me know here or PM me.

Thanks everyone.

Anybody have a Roku box?

Is this a good way to maybe just get basic cable and then use this?

Of course you don't get HBO, Showtime etc.

Any thoughts?

Almost 1000 protesters arrested yet not one crook from Wall Street, Goldman etc has gone to jail or been indicted. Something wrong with that math.

Has anyone seen this guy and his woman friend driving around in an open Jeep Wrangler type vehicle? Music system must be worth more then jeep. LOUD beyond belief. Saw him doing this a couple of weeks ago on Erie by Newark and this morning by 7th and Brunswick. Yeesh. Looks like a guy in his 50's and same with woman. But so obnoxious. I'll have to get plate next time.
And I will also prepare for the replies from those who will feel the need to attack me for posting this. And tell me I should move to the suburbs if I don't like being annoyed by assholes like this guy.

So besides the insanity that is the non-opening during summer of this ice cream shop, where else can you get ice cream downtown?

Good coffee, too expensive in my opinion tho. Something about paying $3.00 or more just for a cup of coffee.

POSSIBLE CAT DUMPING!
Home away from home
Home away from home

I am standing outside
of the community garden on Brunswick
and 6th street right now.

This guy who seems odd and possibly been drinking
has walked from Kennedy Blvd. To
here with a clean, healthy domesticated
adult brown tabby! He said he found it in front
of someone's house and his friend wants a cat!
He says he can't remember where on
Kennedy. This seems odd. I am very concerned
that someone is looking for there cat!
Or worse case it was dumped, but it is
very clean and fit and friendly.
If anyone knows anything, I can be
reached st 908 803 5152.

Thanks!

I also love when you are walking down Newark avenue for example Newark/Erie and you see all the cars parked illegally.
The parking ticket lady said to me she was told not to ticket them
They are the store owners and personal vehicles of folks that work at the Police Dept. right there. Blatant and pathetic.

Can anyone recommend a good ISF certified calibration technician in the area?

Seems very strange to me that
an ice cream shop would not be open yet
as of July 20th. Does anybody else feel
this is very bizarre?

I had the Chicken Schwarma which I thought was incredibly salty.
Told the Owners Wife who was very nice and gave me another meal. She tasted the chicken herself and agreed and said she would adjust the recipe. Haven't been back to try again tho.
Nice people and good cheap eats.

Re: New Jersey & Gay Marriage

Come on Governor Christie, I can't stand obese obnoxious Governors who favor policies that hurt most people but your base rich folk, but I don't want to take any rights away from you. You don't favor same sex marriage okay I get that, but that's YOUR opinion. I hate that the beliefs of some humans take rights away from others. Maybe they should outlaw divorce as well.

Congrats to those in NY State that have legislators and a Governor with courage and conscience.

The sooner we get rid of this giant blowhard in NJ the better I say.

Zzzzzz.

ALL these Republicans are constantly trying the starve the beast philosophy.

And NO trickle down, supply side economic theory DOES NOT work.

Any of my Republican friends on here, please show us the opposite. With facts please and not talking points. Because as Daniel Patrick Moynihan said so eloquently , everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts.

So have at it.
