If you adopt a baboon, I'll walk him free of charge just so I can say I walk a baboon. Quote:

I agree. Maybe all dog owners should consider a horse or say a baboon. I think our dog walkers and pet care providers would be much happier walking them during the day while we are working. What a Dumb Ass thing to say! Heres a thought for you to ponder: The berbs, farm country, etc, have houses with doors on them that pets are kept in while the good folks work! Hello... They have no idea if they are in the city or sitting inside the Vatican. Do you think that a dog is better off tied up outside? Ummm NO...

i went to highschool at st. doms on duncan at jfk. now i walk dogs on the block daily (36 duncan has some nice condos and i'd imagine the surrounding buildings are equally as nice.)

overall, no problems there on my daily adventures with people now. 15 years ago when i was going into high school the block was full of dog poop and bums and other "loitering" and mouthy folks.

there is also the st. paul's church. many of the parishioners that live on the block will confront you if you even step foot on the property and don't belong to their church....not that it's quite a bad thing, just something to note about the watch everyone seems to have over there.

there are a lot of busses in the area. if you're not looking to go out and party every night or can afford a cab to do so when it gets really late, then by all means check it out. you're only a few blocks from the park which is awesome and a short walk to the square.

I walk a dog near there often. That is terrible. Call JCAC or the JCPD and try to get it on film in case they take long to respond.

My bike was stolen this morning between 8:45 and 9:30. It was locked with a cheapish chain in the garage of my building on 5th st. The chain had been cut. I'm guessing one of my neighbors left the garage door open this morning. Other bikes in and outside the garage were untouched. It is a women's schwinn, dark purple.

I JUST got this bike on Saturday, and was planning to go to the bike shop today for a kryptonite lock.

oh no! I'll keep an eye out for it. :(

Re: Hamilton Park Renovation - Update

lake hopatcong state park will give you several clear garbage bags with your license plate # written on them to bag your trash up. the clear bags and the license plate # are just in case they find alcohol containers there they can come and get you. they do charge parking at that park, so that's probably why they "give" you the bags, also to try to catch the people boozing at the state park.

my dog pees as soon as we hit the bottom of the stairs outside and poops on 5th and jersey almost always...he will occasionally mark but it's really very rare. he spends literally the whole day walking other dogs with me so by the time we get over to hamilton on a weekday he's already emptied out.

Ideally, some people would be willing to carry their trash out of the park. I don't mean dog waste, since that's a bit much, but food waste. I know some state-run parks have few to no garbage cans and signs asking the public to please take their trash with them. Maybe that's a budget thing, but people seem to comply. So let's see...We could keep the garbage cans we have and encourage people who litter to use them, and we could ask some more progressive people to carry out their trash. They would bring it home rather than simply dump it just outside the park.

i was there for a while today and it just looked like everyone was having a great time. isn't that what we want?

the only thing i really noticed out of line was the large dog run's garbage can was over flowed. they may need to get large ones like they have in lincoln park since it's going to be used very heavily.

okay so i did stop in and they have a lot of nice snack things, a sandwich area, and some pre-packaged foods and basic gourmet items. they also have a salad bar and a nice seating area. it's not nearly as great as the zeytinia in atlantic city, but it's okay for what it is. i'm sure they'll expand as they figure out what kind of business they will be doing there.

I'll be up there tomorrow. Zeytinia is also in the Tropicana in Atlantic City, so it's probably roughly the same stuff, prepared foods, gourmet packaged goods/beverages, etc.

the bottom of my beetle is pulverized. i had to buy a steel skid plate for the bottom of my car after replacing the stock one 3x in the past 5 years. to top it off, when the last plastic skid plate fell off, i ripped my fan belt and broke a rear strut and a front axle on various potholes. the ones on manilla coming from 139 are awful.
