It is frustrating as I don't look at a street sign every time I park as I assume the time wouldn't change at random and with no warning/letter from JCParking or the city. Not sure what other streets have been changed, but I would check your signs next time you leave your car parked overnight on the street.

Not at all surprised. The city needs to be find new forms of revenue to be able to meet the new $15 minimum hourly wage without raising taxes.

Additional places for bigots to boycott. Good luck. Link at the bottom, but I'll save you a click:

If you don?t want your money to go to a company that openly supports transgender people, you can?t buy an iPhone, eat an Egg McMuffin, drink a Sprite, stock up Budweiser, or fill your prescriptions at either of the nation?s two largest pharmacy chains because Apple, McDonald?s, Coca-Cola, Anheuser-Busch, Walgreens, and CVS all scored a 100 on the HRC index.

Good luck flying anywhere without putting money in the coffers of companies that proudly endorse LGBT rights. American, United, Southwest, JetBlue, and Alaska Airlines all earned top marks, as did Boeing. If you decide to travel by car instead, be sure you?re not in a vehicle manufactured by Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan, or Volkswagen.

Without a car, you will have to wear non-Nike shoes to walk to your local ATM, where you should withdraw all of your money because most major banks?including Chase, Bank of America, Citi, and Wells Fargo?have a 100 on the CEI. Get used to paying with cash because you will have to shred your credit cards. Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover all have a perfect rating, too.

The only problem: Your options for offloading that cash are fairly limited if you don?t want any of it to go toward a world in which transgender people can pee in peace. Build your own furniture because IKEA?s a no-go but do not get the tools for it at Home Depot. You can?t buy clothes at JCPenney, Sears, Nordstrom, or, of course, Target, nor can you purchase food sold by General Mills, Kellogg, Kraft, or Kroger.

After withdrawing from public life and buying most of your goods in cash from local artisans, you will probably find yourself in need of decent home entertainment. But if you oppose trans-friendly businesses, you will have to do without a DirecTV or even a Sirius XM Radio subscription.

The good news is you can watch movies but there?s a catch. Five of the six major film production companies?Sony, Universal, Paramount, Disney, and Warner Bros.?all have a 100 on the CEI.

And last but not least, if you are so upset with Target for allying themselves with the transgender community that you?re willing to boycott, you may have to stop reading this article right now and unplug your Internet. Comcast, AT&T, and Time Warner all have transgender-inclusive policies. There?d be no more #BoycottTarget movement, sure, but at least you?d be consistent.

Unless, of course, that the owner isn't quite as dumb as he seems (unlikely) and he enabled the "Find My Mac" app on his laptop. As soon as that laptop goes on the Internet it's "found" in the sense of an IP Address. The ISPs have a pretty good record of working with law enforcement to provide a street address for any given IP address...

If you think JCPD is gonna try to investigate this, you're kidding yourself. This car will eventually show up abandoned after they're done joy riding it or sold for parts. The laptop will be destroyed or sold without a trace.

Actually the people who complain about "micro aggressions" are usually the people with their own head firmly planted in their ass. That's why it bothers you so much to have to try and wrap your head around a different perspective that is outside your comfort zone.

Hey, there is a nice civil thread going on about the Cicada. I can't imagine anybody from outside of JC driving to visit it. If people wanna go to a mall, they'll probably go out for a nicer experience at Short Hills.

Though the movie theater is nice...they can tear the rest down and keep that.

And, we can?t talk about it. I was at a meeting hosted by the City Planning Office and the City Planner, Matt Ward, basically refused to allow a discussion about the deleterious effects of subsidized housing.
Yet the science is pretty much settled that none of these programs work but instead have perverse effects. Even the New York Times grudgingly admits it.

Several of my blogger friends recently had fun with negative comments by reading them spoken word style and putting up the video on you tube. It's better to be polarizing than boring at any rate.

I haven't read this person's blog but if putting herself prominently in her posts works for her, then she should by all means continue. It's not my personal style but we all do what works for us. If she explicitly discloses receiving payment for reviews (which is really advertising) then who cares. Don't read it or start your own blog. Like mainstream journalists, I go on press trips all the time and disclose it (but don't accept payment, it's not my thing). Ultimately it's the size of your readership that determines your success, not what is said on some random thread on jclist.

It's 2016- no one is in the dark about how sponsored posts or blogs in general work- I don't even know what your point is if you've never read the blog we are discussing.

The criticism being directed torwards her is because she acts like her sponsored posts are authentic reviews when they aren't and then dopey idiots come on JCList to share her sham reviews for new places (which are always glowing and contain no actual criticism). And since its JCList it (of course) escalates.

E. Parking permits shall be issued to motor vehicles only upon application by the following persons:
(1)
A legal resident of the residential permit parking zone who (a) has a motor vehicle registered in his/her name or available for his/her exclusive use and under his/her control; and (b) resides in a property in which no off-street parking is available to residents, whether the off-street parking is provided free of charge or is only offered for a separate fee or rent.
(2)
A person who owns or leases commercial property and actively engages in business activity within a residential permit parking area or employee thereof (pay stubs shall be submitted for proof of employment). However, no more than one (1) parking permit may be issued for each employee for a motor vehicle registered to or under the control of such a person.
(3)
A person who is a current student of an educational institution (proof of current registration required) located in the residential parking permit zone.

You are interpreting this incorrectly, as I know through my direct dealings with the Parking Dept. Residents who can provide proof that the "no off-street parking is available" in the case where their building is full and therefore "not available" to them are granted street parking permits if they provide proof that they can't get a space in their building's lot/garage. So once its full, the street permits are free game for these new residents. This is one of the neighboring residents' concerns.

I haven't found this to be true. I live in a building that sits on Dixon Mills footprint but isn't Dixon Mills and cannot rent spots from Dixon Mills. The zoning incorrectly includes my building (12 units) therefore I am shut out from parking at Dixon Mills and cannot get a street parking permit.
I've been exchanging emails with Ms. Osbourne's office for almost two years, as well as numerous exchanges with Fulop when he was a councilman. I'm told the laws have to be rewritten and then I don't hear anything back.

I've been renting a third party spot for years and at this point have gotten used to it, but it drives me batty that this just can't get corrected so that other tenants can get permits.

A homeless man was critically injured on Sunday when he was involved in a hit-and-run accident while pushing a shopping cart of his belongings across the street, officials said.

Derek Walker, 29, of Maryland, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident but could face additional charges, depending on the fate of the victim.

At about 3:45 a.m., the 65-year-old man was crossing the street on Columbus Drive when he was struck by Walker's purple Hyundai Sonata, according to a police report.

Witnesses at the scene told police the victim hit the driver's windshield and was carried on the front of the car "a few car lengths" before rolling off onto the street, the report states.

The witness told police the driver exited his vehicle in the middle of the intersection near Barrow Street, looked back for about 20 seconds and then left the scene, the report states.

At 4:06 a.m., police were informed that Walker had called police to report that he hit some type of object or person on Columbus Drive and was currently on the New Jersey Turnpike, according to the report.

After authorities told Walker to return to the scene, he arrived at 4:16 a.m. His car had a "spider webbing" crack on the windshield and a dent on the hood and passenger side door, police said.

The vehicle was impounded and Walker was arrested for numerous traffic offenses and open warrants, the report states.

At the scene, police recovered the victim's belonging -- a sleeping bag, blanket, shoes and bottle of wine -- and took measurements from the accident. The report states there was a pool of blood left on the street.

The victim's "life-threatening injures" included bilateral femur fractures, a head injury and collapsed lung, the report states.

Walker appeared in Central Judicial Procession court yesterday and was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury.

During the hearing, it was stated that the victim not in the cross walk, was wearing dark clothing and it was raining at the time of the accident.

Court officials called the accident "sad" as Walker's family sat in the courtroom.

Walker has no prior arrests, but had two warrants out of Jersey City Municipal Court for motor vehicle violations. The first warrant was $500 and the second was $7,000 with a 10 percent cash option.

Judge Margaret Marley set bail for the accident at $5,000 with a 10 percent cash option, but was concerned the charge could possibly be upgraded to death by auto if the victim dies.

He was issued summonses for careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries, leaving the scene of an accident, and reckless driving.

The man remains in critical condition at Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health, a hospital spokesman said.

so $500 bucks? The judge doesn't think this POS wont skip out on this one as well?
