This is not a question of 15k, it's an ethics issue. She can easily wield her influence to get another higher profile job for her couple of years later.

The times people should step out of NYC metro area and explore other parts of NY state. Then they should comment which state is more unfashionable.

I agree a lot of money goes into innovation, but even more goes to bank accounts of the overpaid CEOs. Why is the cost of prescription drugs so high in US? It cannot be justified by the R&D cost alone.

All goods sold in this country are overpriced to the extent that the manufacturer makes huge profits. And this also gives them the opportunity to reduce the prices and still sell stuff when they want to get rid of old stock. Do you seriously think that for a made in China item, iPhone should cost so much?

There are two on the waterfront - Newport and Exchange.

Why would you want taxes to go up?

Quote:
I think that taxes need to go up, although I agree they are high already relative to NYC which has abnormally low taxes thanks to corporations.

Completely agree. People inserting their own agenda instead of helping out the OP. I also recommend grove Pointe because of the perfect location.

To attract more families, one thing we need is few more parks, especially in JSQ. I hope there is some progress wrt the embankment in downtown.

This is the second place after Dopeness, that has been on the receiving end of JCListers negativity. I am extremely happy that two new businesses opened up in downtown. Then there is another thread criticizing the Newport mall, which is also becoming better. I would like to see more such businesses open up here and replace the discount stores, hair braiding salons, etc.

The famous Colgate Clock, which has sat on the Jersey City Waterfront facing Manhattan for nearly 90 years, is getting a makeover.

The clock, a local landmark that survived even after the factory it adorned was demolished in 1988, will be torn down to the ground, then outfitted with LED lights, a better foundation and new steel, according to City Planner Bob Cotter.

Doom and gloom thing is far from reality, but the issue that he has raised is legitimate. Why are taxes so high, when we do not get excellent services in return? JC is not Millburn with excellent schools and on-demand trash pickup.

The mall is certainly getting better slowly. My wife goes there to shop sometimes and she has been telling me that there are better stores and more food options now. Hope they have an Apple store some day.

Hasn't he overbuilt in Newport. There isn't any land left for a big park now. Unless he builds a park on top of Newport mall.

NJ voters voted for him in the first place because had they not done so, there won't be any money left to give tax breaks to the low income folks! It's the middle class that needs tax breaks, not the low income folks.

Booker is overhyped. He cannot even control all the violence in his town. There were two shootings just yesterday. But the governor also knows that Booker will bring out those inner city folks in large numbers and we will end up with Buono and higher taxes and more spending.
