Government? I never mentioned government. My social observation was focused on people or groups that assume the right to judge and validate people through their narrow ?political correctness? prism. If that shoe fits Puddles, wear it. Express what is judged as a non-pc viewpoint and you are labeled a racist Islamo/Homo//Misogyno phobe. And in that crazy world view, Catholic and Jew baiting is widely accepted.

?Mr. Free Speech Argument Maker??? I picture you as little Shirley Temple stamping your foot to get attention and shaking your head side to side to accent each spoken word. Really Puddles, are you so threatened by the free speech to all concept that you mock it trying to offend me? It continues to be an unalienable right, granted by the Creator, not the government. Do I have to source that comment for you?

Really sad that people don't ignore this troll. Jerseymom, you are one of the best people on this site, but giving this wretched creature air time is what the organism feeds on. It thrives on getting responses in this echo chamber. The only way to kill it is not to feed it.

The Jersey Journal is a rag that shouldn't even have deigned to print this - I've read more incisive opinion pieces in the comment section on porn sites.

Since the Troll feeds on attention, let us not use hate as a weapon, but indifference. To paraphrase Silence of the Lambs: Do not approach the Troll. Do not touch the Troll. Pass the Troll nothing. If the Troll attempts to pass you something do not accept it.

The Troll is an oxygen thief, nothing more. Deprive it of oxygen and it's mouth will wither and die, like it's heart and brain did long ago...

+1. Nobody has said it better-

With the above in mind, how about we all try a little social experiment? For the next full week, NOBODY replies to ANY thread where Yvonne has posted. In other words, let that thread wither and die with Yvonne being the last poster. If the original subject (which is probably not where Yvonne left off on the old thread) is still of general interest and folks here have useful information to share then by all means start a similar new thread (apologies to Webmaster, but it's just for a week, OK?)

Anybody up for this suggestion?

My 10% citation comes from the person who opened up this silly thread. One would assume that sexual predators (strangers) in public spaces would stalk areas that give them privacy such as a public bathroom or store clothes changing area. They certainly aren't going to be jerking off in the food court of the Newport Mall. My deviant horny school teacher comment was just a reflection of your funny sense of humor about the Catholic Church AKA. Amazing you have missed the "one or two" stories that have appeared in the news about teachers going to jail for sexually abusing their students. Sorry I had to explain something so obvious.

So you conclude from what evidence that 10% of all children are molested by strangers in public bathrooms? You seem to have a hard time with statistics. That was 10% total of "molested children" were victimized by strangers.

Not sure what your point about teachers is, but kids are far more likely to be molested by a person in loco parentis such as a relative, teacher, coach or clergyman. It's just that simple, they have far more access and trust than somebody in a restroom. Better the restroom than jolly ole Coach Denny Hastert pulling up a chair to watch the boys shower.

Naw... we figure we are performing a public service helping you get your head out of your butt. Otherwise you will run amok through JC List threads searching for microaggressions like Captain Ahab searching for Moby Dick, the great white whale.

Actually the people who complain about "micro aggressions" are usually the people with their own head firmly planted in their ass. That's why it bothers you so much to have to try and wrap your head around a different perspective that is outside your comfort zone.

Hey, there is a nice civil thread going on about the Cicada. Then some arrogant dope contributes by calling people racist because we were using a product name called Chinese Fire Water?. and that person says he is still offended after being totally discredited. So we are supposed to excuse the terrible accusation? The guy never even apologized. That?s right liberals wouldn?t admit to an error in judgement, they would change it to facilitating a ?learning moment?
Thanks for your useful contributions though, incoherent as they read.

Don't worry- your opposition to learning anything new is very apparent. Keep that head firmly planted!

Thanks, I don?t need your lessons. I prefer not to prejudge people by assuming they are inherently racist. Hard to make progress in life with that kind of chip on your shoulder.

And that Bowtie Theatre is really helping that NW section of Hoboken... besides the Pilsner House there are a number of little restaurants/bars in that area that must get foot traffic for that theatre.

After having an odd experience at the bar and once getting table it just goes from the first place you think of to dine, then your 2nd, 3rd and then just last. Especially if you are walking up from Grove Street area with other choices.

I do agree that the closing of high profile restaurants is not a good thing. This would be the third high profile place to close (if indeed it is closing) all within a few months. Hopefully that is not the case.

As for the other stuff, I am not too worried. Plenty of good places still around, and enough options to try a different place or two every week and still have a fun, varied experience.

Now is a goodtime to eat there. The lines used to be out the door at the couple city places near my office. The brand was really damaged by all these food poisoning incidents. One was closed for one day according to the sign because a steamer was not working. Still people continued to eat there though that crisis. Always wondered with a highly publicized systematic food handling problem, why people would risk thier health?

This would actually be the best time to eat from a place like this because everyone is being super picky about cleanliness.

To JCMan8's point about parking.... on the northside of Washington it is angular parking... it makes little sense to only run a bike lane halfway down the street. Obviously from a bike safety view you can't have those combustible engine machines backing into bike paths, unable to see riders pedaling along at 15 or 20 mph. Also curious how many of these riders would obey the traffic signals on Washington. It hard enough to make cars and pedestrians obey the traffic controls.

I suppose the ban is in place to protect LSP guests from getting hit by idiots who fly their drones into the ESB. 40 floors? I guess his string broke? ( sarcasm ) Kites really?

I listen to WNYC daily, and I am often pleasantly surprised at the decent amount of coverage drawn by JC.

About the drone, this is something that I have been meaning to ask in JCLIST and keep forgetting to do so: does anyone know why drones are now banned in LSP? I was just at Maritime Parc a few days ago and was surprised to see the huge electronic billboard at the park's entrance announcing the banning of drones at LSP.

It smacks of kowtowing to the hysteria of some. If the concern is devices up in the air could somehow pose a danger to people or aircrafts, what about kites? If the concern is noise (and, really, drones aren't that loud!) what about all the boomboxes and speakers that are cranked up by weekend patrons grilling in the park?

EDIT: I looked it up online. Turns out this is a blanket ban by the State of NJ on ALL state parks. Flying drones is otherwise allowed in JC city parks, as long as you stay clear of the airport 5-miles no-fly zones.

I have a feeling there are very few if any cases of this actually happening.

LOL.... it has the potential to compete with the Resorts Casino in Queens. Fired employee / Lover murders in parking lot, riots in the food court over crappy free frozen Mardis Gras drinks and customer suicides off balcony at main entry. Never mind the free giveaways (lettuce cleaner) for preferred customers that have people lined up for hours. It is also used to be a destination spot for the NYC homeless.

Curious how Liberty National feels about riff-raff coming into their zip code.
