James Solomon won. He is Ward E's councilman- elect. That being said can we stop gloating about it. A poor winner is worse than a sore looser.

If he hasn't already James should  out to opposing factions to bring our ward together. Mayor Elect-Fulop had Dan Levin on a transition team committe.

Until Next Election.

Best

Phil

The endorsement of  Rebecca Symes by Aaron Morrill the Civic JC Co-Founder is profound. Aaron is a very vocal critic  of the current administration. To paraphrase Aaron" Every voter should spend ten minutes talking to Rebecca and they will find

that she is not the caricuture that her opponents have tried to portray her as"

Aaron Morrell  who Co -founded of the  Jersey City good government group Civic JC has endorsed Rebecca Symes for Ward E councilperson. Aaron is a frequent critic of the adminitration and our mayor.

Aaron told me and I paraphrase. I encourage eveyone in Jersey City to talk to Rebecca so they find out she's not the person James Solomons camp charactrizes her as.

Oakman....14 affordable housing units,1 million to city, $250 k to Affordable housing trust. New homeowners paying over 20 million dollars over the course of the abatement.  Is this running wild??? Solomon barked and harrased the  individual condo owners.

Pacs are independent of candidates, Pacs don't contribute to campaigns, Rebecca is not involved. Spreading misnformation doesn't make it true. Calling something dark doesn't make it dark.  i have a problem with those who call themselves

community activists. Are you going to run on Healy's Ticket or accept $82k from a billionaires anti-union fund. Those are two other community activists supporting Solomon.  Hypocrisy .

Short Hills Solomon  is not the white knight to save the day. He's a carnival pitch man. Exploiting his Cancer, going affter low hanging fruit Trump, Kushner to no effect, expoiting a kids traffic death  minutes after the tragedy. Your not bothered by him

" borrowing" Unbought and Unbossed from Shirley Chisholm. It's called plagarism  I don't see him doing anything to help the residents of WARD E  .

Why wouln't a PAC funded by the Operating Engineers union support candidates who who believe in responsible economic development. This is not "dark money" and Rebecca has no control over an outside group doing anything. Solomons one paid full time job was working for Teach For America,  a resume building job,

which replaces  union teachers  with unqualified and untrained people. Its funded by the Walmart Foundation. He has a long history of being anti -union. Unions don't like him.

James Solomon has outspent Rebecca in this election, accepting money from wealthy out of town donors in the real estate industry and Wall Street. He has now put $35k of his own money into the election.  Rebecca is running a grassroots campaign supported by Jersey City residents. The majority of James

campaign contributions have come from him personally or that of his family. If we want to sove this problem of money in politics, lets take out personal wealth as well. Candidates should not have the opportunity to buy an election. That's what James is trying to do. We didn't fare well with Trump or Corzine and Ward E

would be better off without Short Hills Solomon.

Short Hills Solomon spent a good amount of time barking about the developers and realtors profiting from the abatement granted by the city to The Oakman.

In exchange for the abatement, the developers built 14 affortable apartments, gave $250,000 to the afforiable housing trust and paid the city more than 1 million dollars. The current owners of the condos will have paid the city well in exess of 20 million dollars by the time the abatement expires. Lenders were not going to write the loan unless an abatement was granted. The Oakman is an example of a good abatement negotiated by the city. The building of The Oakman employeed scores of trademens in the contruction. These trades and other unions are supporting Rebecca Symes for councilperson. This is not dark money. Many who call themselves progressive should look at their own actions. Be it receiving

over $80k from billionaires in a school board election or running on Jerry Healy 's ticket.

333 River Street is a rental building not a condominium. Give it a google. It's on the world wide web.

While your at it  google the slogan  Unbought and Unbossed. The title of Ms Shirley Chisholms book and her catch phrase.

I'm sure Ms. Chisholm would not mind Mr. Solomon hijacking her slogan and title of her book. They have alot in common..expect Ms. Chisholm was not a rich kid from the suburbs who fudged her resume, expoited  her cancer and never held a full time job.

Solomon should change his slogan to

Unscrupuious and Unemployed!

She lives in Harsimus Cove. Never owned a condo in Hoboken. This is a diversion.

James Solomon Unbought and Unbossed. That slogan was stolen from gender and civil rights icon Shirley Chisholm, the first woman of color in congress.

Solomons claims it's a homage . Another word is plagarism. Homage credits the source.

From exploiting his cancer, fudging his resume, stealing slogans to push polling.Solomon is not the real deal.

Much like Saint Solomons house on 4th street. Estimated value 1.1 million(  paid 783k in 2015) Taxes $4400

Saint Solomon benefitted from the same city policy as Dixon. Do as i say not as i do.

i agree with JPHURST that  NJCU are not diploma mils. I also agee that Mr. Solomon is not qualified for the job , his campaign has lacked integrity from the get go. From exploiiting his cancer, to fudging his resume, to his  half truths and his recent attack adds. The four remaining candidates have accomplished things ...though Solomon did graduate from a prestigous ivy league university...just like Trump and George W.

Thats funny that you compare Solomon to Fulop. Im not going to argue that but point out that Jersey City was alot differnt city when Fulop first ran in 2005. Ward E needed Steve Fulop then we don't need Solomon now.

Solomon and Hudnut( Not Grillo)bullied Symes at every opportunity during the debates.  I wish she had told them to shut up.

A few thoughts on Dixon.. they buy properties , the fix do a splendid job renovating the homes then rent or sell them. They employ scores of Jersey City residents. Rebecca Symes worked at Dixon. She has a very impressive resume and had the pleasure to work with her on several

occassions. Is she amitious? So what.

With an upcoming revaluation the city changed a policy that benefited hundreds of property owners, nluding Dixon Properties and  James Solomon. James fails to mention this

why is that?James fails to mention the city will collect over 20 million more to payments at The Oakman then if the building was built as a rental.

Can u explain why James Solomon fails to mention that he greatly benefits from the city no longer reassessing properties after renovations. James is one of over 400 property owners

who benefitted from the city policy. James pays  approximetly $4400  a year for a property that was purchased for $783k in 2015.
