I live in Dixon Mills, been here over 5 years. It's overall a fine place to live as the location is great and the building quality is good for an old building. However, the financial mismanagement by the Board has been so bad I could not advise anyone to buy here now. In fact, I know of multiple residents looking into legal action against the Board for their financial mismanagement.
For context- the condo fees are offensively high (e.g. ~$900/month for 1,000 sq ft apartment) and the Board institutes a "special assessment" EVERY SINGLE YEAR on top of that. Thus, if you live on any sort of budget, this is not a place to buy. We have a Board president who has held the position the whole time I've been here, who along with the other Board members is very wealthy. They spend resident money with ease and it is an assumption that every year they will raise condo fees and require a new special assessment. We are also in never-ending litigation with the developer. So stay away for now IMO until the Board leadership turns over.

There were always drunk idiots but at least now it's not the pedestrian hell that existed before. I kept seeing the same officers walking the block which likely deterred crappy behavior. Hopefully this expands further!

Having visited Krakow and Warsaw once each, one of the most striking things during my visit was the massive amount of swastikas littered throughout each city. Some old, some new, it was crazy seeing people casually walking by them. Then you go to Auschwitz/Birkenau or Majdanek and there is a town literally right up until the Camp gates (and yes- those towns were there during WWII).

The North Bergen location is great. Maybe dcourts1984 had a bad experience but this is a very welcome addition having been to their other location.

I cannot vote in Ward E but find the continued smear campaign by Solomon's followers interesting. It is not surprising from some of his followers who come from the Healy/Matsikoudis camp, but if he is such a great ideas guy, why is there a constant negative fear-mongering attack from his supporters? Why not speak to the things Symes (who seems to be a very accomplished woman) actually says?
If I didn't know any better, I'd believe Symes is a sith lord ready to turn Ward E into Mordor. Time will tell if the Trump-like tactic of fear and hate will win...

Interesting that Solomon seems to have really galvanized the Healy/Matsoukidis camp, many of course being outside of downtown. Although getting the "angry" crowd didn't go over well for Matso, I wonder if Solomon can leverage their support to victory here?

While negative campaigning does work sometimes (see: Trump supporters) I do find it deters those who actually vote based on policy. While I can't vote in E, I liked this Solomon guy until he went negative. I know others in Ward E who similarly were deterred by him for this same reason.

I have admittedly not navigated to the site, but in the same topic wonder this:
Does he own his time as the chief strategist/advisor/lawyer for the former Mayor Healy? Many of his positions now are conveniently at complete odds with what transpired during the 9+ years of the Healy regime.

How does Billy boy justify his tenure as the chief legal advisor and confidant to Healy? Was he advising Healy for all 10 years where we saw almost a 100% raise in city taxes? The Healy record is pitiful and I just cannot grasp how he can say he isn't responsible as chief counsel to the mayor.

I would say ?JC was not willing to pay for his food? is a fairly inaccurate reason for why they closed. Having been a regular at their Dullboy location, I stopped going nearly 2 years ago as the service was consistently horrific. The person who I believe was the GM (always wore a baseball hat) seemed like she generally never gave a crap about how her staff acted. After being treated like crap many times by the staff we simply said enough is enough and never went back. I know several people who stopped going for the same reason. It doesn?t matter how good your food is (and I generally loved theirs), if the staff sucks, there are more than enough places to eat around here.

About a year ago they did add some frequency on the JSQ-33rd line. The change in frequency from 5 to 10 minutes is a bit later for both the a.m. and p.m. rush hours.

You are right about where the really bad mills are. Also Missouri is notorious for puppy mills. One issue is that the mills now use "brokers" who will be local to the store and act as middle person. This does obviously still leave those determined to purchase a certain brand of dog the option of a backyard breeder, but at least it narrows their options a bit.

AEG Live and comparable companies have a track record of renovating historic theaters and turning them into premier event spaces. they have the capital to do the renovation and the connections to book the ongoing talent needed to keep it running. if the FOL were remotely capable of doing so they would have already.
