Please show us data, like I provide you. The graduated state income tax, costs the higher earning NJ taxpayers much more. And the wealthier NJ residents who work in NYC (less and less each year) also pay state income tax on other revenue they earn outside of salary. But show some numbers rather than an opinion not supported by the facts.

Another proofless claim. Back it up. Big NJ cities have much lower incomes by residents, and pay state income at much lower rates than suburban residents.

Thinking it so doesn?t make so. Please provide hard numbers, as I did.
The Short Hills Mall, one of the highest sales per square foot malls in the country-Newport isn?t even in the top ten in the state. Wanna bet who send more sales tax cash to Trenton. All 8 NJ billionaires don?t earn their living in JC. Tiny Short Hills has 3, paying the states highest RE taxes, while paying for your schools. Appooloza Fund, which was next door to the SH Mall, was sending hundreds of millions in taxes to NJ-so much that the billionaire owner moved it to Florida. So let?s see your numbers!

Here is the state list of tax rates for suburban Morris County. Compare those numbers to JC, whose rate is much lower at 1.540. The difference is mostly that suburban towns get a tiny amount of school funding back from Trenton.

For one year, JC taxpayers received $575 million for schools from Trenton. The link above shows previous years, showing JC has gotten BILLIONS from state taxpayers, while paying well under 20% of the costs of educating its own kids. Can you provide a link proving your claim that JC sends more $ to Trenton than it receives? Because I proved mine with data from the state database.

Much of sales tax in JC is half the state average at 3%. Do you really think Newport Mall generates anything near what the Mall at Short Hills or Riverside Square does,
lol? And the dollar stores and bodegas in JC compared to, say, downtown Summit or Rudgewood or Princeton? Anyone thinking JC contributes more to Trenton than it receives back in school support, Section 8 funding, etc has no grip on reality. In school support alone JC has gotten BILLIONS from suburban taxpayers. And the result are some of the worst schools in NJ. And the local schools that suburban taxpayers fund through local real estate taxes is because they get a pittance back from Trenton (from their income taxes and sales taxes) because towns like JC and Newark get BILLIONS.

Bayonne residents pay more than twice what JC residents do. JC needs to pay its fair share. JC has bled suburban taxpayers of billions of dollars to support its schools, which are awful.
