If this new place is looking to draw it's clientele from NYC, then they should stay in NYC. Who needs them here?

By the time we started to explore after moving here in late 1978 ... there were only a few stores left. We loved going to the coffee store and the fish market. What happened to the rest... so quickly gone by 1979, 1980?

With the lot and block numbers, you can go to the County Records office and find all the owners and transfer dates.

Then you can take your names to the Jersey Room in the main library if its open and check the city directories.

You would have been able to get lots more information but many years ago there was a fire in city hall on the top floor where all the building department records (historically) were kept. You can still call the building department to see if any years were saved.

I too will be voting for Natalia Ioffe. Line 7i

She is independent, very smart, very committed to her neighborhood, to the children of Jersey City, has been working for a long time with and for the parents at the grammar school in Paulus Hook and doing a superb job.

2018 Property Tax payments: 3rd & 4th Quarter information

this information is directly from:
Edward Toloza, Jersey City Tax Collector:

The Tax Collector is still processing the County Board judgments.

Reductions should be reflected or credited on the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2018 until such time when the bills are ready to be mailed out.

If the judgment comes in later date, reductions will be credited to the 4th quarter of 2018 and any excess monies from the judgment will be credited to the 3rd quarter.

If for reason or another any outstanding overpayments resulting from the judgment will be refunded or credited to future payments by advising the Tax Collector.

The Tax Collector is hoping that the bills will sent out in a week.

To

apparently you write whatever nonsense comes into your head.

VVPA has a website with all the dates and speakers for each meeting, emails meeting notices to the community about the meetings, has events all over the place. Meeting are held and have been for over 30 years in the same place and on the same 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Tonight a movie in the park.

I gather you live in a dank dark cave.

I agree with K-Lo2.

Rebecca Symes is no longer and is not currently connected with Dixon Advisory.

If there are issues with Dixon as there may very well be, they are unrelated to Ms. Symes and a new thread should be created by the person who is posted about Dixon rather than continuing an old thread that is no longer valid.

What an amazingly insensitive additions to a lovely set of buildings.

If there was an architect, they did not try very hard to incorporate the new additions to add interest to either the top nor to the sides of the existing buildings. Just sort of plopped a few boxes on top of the roofs.

Too bad. Either it was the architect's fault or a developer who was too cheap to be creative.

We who have Rep. Albio Sires as our congressperson, have a Ghost of a congressperson.

Do you know what his face looks like or what his voice sounds like?

Sires has yet to put his face out to a Town Hall meeting in an open forum answering questions from his constituents for low these many years that he has been in office.

Sires thinks sending out a newsletter with a lot of blah, blah, blahs, is him doing a great job.

Sires is a sad excuse for a congressperson.

The sooner he is gone, gone, gone.... the better.

it would appear that 07302 is shilling for someone for a reason.

The ran in Ward E apparently is the only one that has incurred such rampant crap from a few again shills

shill
In conspiracy terms: A Shill is a person who is pretending to agree with a conspiracy and intentionally circulates false information or acts totally insane in an effort to discredit said conspiracy. Shills are often thought to be hired by the government but don't necessarily have to be.

Why does it appear that you are looking to make a mountain out of nothing.

I haven't read anything by any of you about anything negative of the other candidates.

Is it because she is a very competent, accomplished and talent women? Is that what is bothering you?

Instead why not actually listen to what Rebecca has to say, what she will do as councilperson, what she has done in the past.

The fact is she quit her job and is committed to working full time for one year as councilperson.

Is there a yellow building permit posted either in the window or door?

make a note of the number and the contractor's contact info

Make a complaint to:
https://seeclickfix.com/issues/

And keep calling the health dept for inspector to come and inspect. that's what they get paid for.

These building will bring in an additional 1,189 rental units.... maybe one person per or two people per unit. That number plus the existing monster white building plus the other building coming on line, plus all the building coming on line in Harrison.

Makes the PATH ever so crowded and way beyond capacity.

Makes for a very not well thought out city plan

Lucky the new location is next to their law offices and not 328 Montgomery St.

So will it be just a restaurant or will they try for the Nite Club at their new location.

Are all their permits in order?

Was that their plan all along.

Out of spite, demolish of an historic building on Newark Ave, transfer their liquor license three times (3) ... Newark Ave, Montgomery St and finally the Porto... well they are lawyers so they don't have to pay anyone but them selves... so to speak.

Well good luck to them. Not that they would be so nice to anyone else.

For someone who is so bothered by chalk on the ground... stop looking down. Look up at the sky, the trees or just ahead. That should work for you.

And if that doesn't work for you: get up off your chair and do your own chalking.

It's a free world out there

If you wish to see the plans that show there is only one way in and that is the same way out, the Planning Department at 30 Montgomery St, will be happy to show them to you.

Then you will be able to see for yourself.

You could try what I did years ago and it seemed to work. I boxed up all that I received over a period of time, this after nothing else seemed to work.

Put in a note that I did not want to get the many each week left on my stoop and to please stop.

I addressed that package with their address and their return address and minimum amount of postage required.

Have never received another one.

this venue is awaiting Historic District Commission approval of the restoration of the facade.

The Nightclub/bar/restaurant concept of this site has a legal limit of 49 people. That is inclusive of employees and customers.

There is only one means of ingress, egress in case of an emergency and that is out the front door.

The owners are not neighborhood friendly and have to date thrown boulders in the river since the deed was transferred.

The owners have had and continue to have actually been a very bad neighbor.

Without permission they have been on neighbors roofs, backyards, working without permits, taking the facade down ? all without permission, and has jeopardized the health of the upstairs tenant.... the list goes on and on.
