There are a few wackos out there both pro and anti-dog. There is one woman, a dog-owner, who was constantly questioning me on whether I was allowed in the grass with my dogs near the McWilliams/8th Street quadrant. I assured her I was and yet whenever I've encountered her husband/boyfriend walking their dog he never has a poop bag.
I always give him one but we all know what's happening when no ones looking.

I wish they'd build a bar that has blah, blah, blah....... What a joke. Last thing we need are more bars that will sit empty for months until they finally get the message. We have more than enough bars people. You wanted them so USE THEM. There ain't gonna be ________'s Bar that has all the things that ________ loves. Losers.

People litter for the same reason I don't. It's the way they were raised. Sorry, some of us cannot understand why a person would throw their litter on the ground. We cannot relate to it and we CANNOT excuse it.

Good points but litter doesn't drop itself on the ground. If people are too lazy to carry an empty coffee cup/soda bottle a couple extra blocks then it says more about them than it does about anything else.

There is also this.

Don't listen to the stupid comments like "it's a city, blah, blah.." These guys have all week to work and should not be doing so on weekends especially since it is NOT an emergency. Lean on those pricks and hopefully they'll get fined too. Call Fulop's office too. He's your councilman.

That was my though right off the bat when I saw the picture. My reasoning is there was recently firemen at my building.

Gloves
overalls
And fireman pants

I agree that it could be. Maybe they had a wrong address and started to pry the door and then were like "Oh sh**!" Seems plausible. The back of the shirt looked like a skull and crossbones at first but it could be one of those fire dept shields.

Re: Attempted Break-In in Hamilton Park

A couple years ago a building on Hamilton Park was broken into and several bikes were stolen from the basement storage room. They were not locked. Two very expensive bikes were well locked and were left behind. The tenants decided that it wasn't worth reporting the crime nor taking any quick remedies to put in better locks. The NEXT DAY the burglars came back and got the two expensive bikes. So did you guys, hitchcock, meowmix et al, report your attempted break-ins to the cops?

All I can say is I hope people are reporting these break-ins. Like I've said/written a million times, this is not an army of burglars doing this stuff. It is usually the same 1 or 2 people hitting an area till they get caught or get nervous. Believe me, whether they've served time or not these dudes will keep coming back even after jail because they're lazy and stupid and probably live nearby. If you don't report these crimes then you are just making it easier for them.

Just curious about what the cops have said? Burglars are repeat offenders and are quite well known by cops. Did they recognize this guy? Meowmix did you report that attempted break-in? In the future I would recommend posting incidents on this site right away.

Jerry's drunken buffoonery is what helps Jersey City keep that 40 years behind NYC feel. The rank and file in city services are quaking in their boots. The worst possible scenario for them is a Mayor backed by taxpayers who hold them accountable. It was a lot easier for them to push around poor people while buying off their leaders with no show city jobs and phony political positions. The cops and firemen and every other city employee is not looking forward to dealing with residents who actually know their rights and what they are paying for with the ridiculous tax rates. Ever been to Montclair? The residents there are smart, wealthy and tell the city what they want. In other words, they don't take crap from political hacks and city goons. Jersey City is moving in that direction slowly but surely. No more "I'll talk to my cousin Sean about hooking you up with a city job". Healy represents the past. Fulop is the future.

Re: WTF JCPD?

It's ridiculous. The truck I saw today was a regular flatbed that was empty and headed toward the waterfront on the Mall Road. The JCPD cars had lights and sirens blaring and were flying for no reason as the truck had tires squealing around that sharp curve near the embankment. They truly are like big children.

WTF JCPD?
Home away from home
Home away from home

Today I saw two JCPD squad cars escorting an empty 18 wheeler flatbed truck at a high rate of speed from the TPK ramp down the Newport Mall Road. They were forcing cars to pull over and driving like idiots. I honestly thought that maybe the truck driver was refusing to pull over and the cops were blocking traffic for safety. I mentioned this to my wife later and she told me she saw something similar the other day on Washington Blvd involving a JCPD car and van escorting flatbeds with backhoes. So there's no real emergency? it's just cops helping contractors drive dangerously for fun and putting citizens at risk? WTF?

More so than artists Gay people, especially men, probably do more to lift property values than anyone else. Most don't have children so couldn't care less about school systems. Most put incredible effort into bringing up the aesthetic qualities of any given area. Many are well off and have disposable income so small businesses and restaurants can flourish. And, of course, some of those same gay people are artists or art collectors as well.

I have seen some dudes hanging out at the White Star on weekends during the day. They are all older ex-city workers, cops etc. I didn't think much about them until a couple of weeks ago 3 of them retired to an empty table and seemed to be having a campaign meeting over endless beers. The one guy had a large stack of computer print-outs and they very discussing demographics and other such things. I couldn't hear them very well over the music but they seemed to be Healy's team. As far as I could decipher from other visits many of them are city pensioners who are now employed in other city jobs. The beat goes on.....

Careful, no one have any fun with this guy around. Curmudgeon police alert. I've never seen someone get so angry and worked up about a skate park. If you panic about every potential minor inconvenience, maybe a city is not the best place for you.

Have all the fun you can handle but any person who thinks the city is gonna build a "world class skatepark" is smoking some potent weed.

So should the city build one downtown and one in the Heights? I like golf so I would like a golf course downtown. How about Bacci and horseshoes and croquet and polo? We need a cricket grounds before most of those things. Good luck. Oh yeah, and we gotta rebuild much of the waterfront.
