A 19-year-old man was gunned down outside of a City Crossing apartment unit in Jersey City on Wednesday night, officials said.
Kamal McCord, of Jersey City, was found with a gunshot wound to his torso inside a home at 21 Merseles Court. A 21-year-old woman was also injured during the incident, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.
Police were called around 9:50 p.m. and alerted of a shooting. McCord was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was treated at Jersey City Medical Center for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, officials said.
Sources say McCord was shot outside the two-story home and collapsed when he ran inside.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. McCord's death is expected to be ruled the sixth homicide in Jersey City this year and the eighth in Hudson County in 2018.
Anyone with information about the shooting can call homicide detectives at 201-915-1345 or leave an anonymous tip on the Hudson County Prosecutor's website. All information will be kept confidential.http://www.nj.com/jjournal-news/index.ssf/2018/05/teen_gunned_down_in_jersey_cit.html
